Jackie L. Shaw, 74, of rural Tiffin, passed away at 8:10 P.M. on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 5, 1946, in Coldwater, MI to the late Leo and Melvia (Stone) Shaw. On October 22, 1965, he married Gloria K. Lawrence.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; children, Kim Evans of Gahanna and Yancy (Stephanie) Shaw of Tiffin; brother, Richard L. (Betty) Shaw; five grandchildren, Lindsay, Elaine, Wesley, Macie and Ellie; five great grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin, Charlotte, Azlynn and Alivia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles W. Shaw and Glen Michael Shaw.
Jack was a 55 year member of LiUNA, Marion Laborers’ Local 574. He was a retired business manager/secretary/treasurer of the District Council of Ohio and held various offices throughout his career, including, Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer of Marion Local 574. Jack was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #1093, VFW Post 3759 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2184, and was a 32nd Degree Mason in Sycamore, and also a member of Zenobia Shrine.
Jack loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and enjoying a cold one. He enjoyed traveling to various cities with his wife. One of their favorite destinations was Michigan. He was a die hard Michigan football fan. He especially loved being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the James Cancer Center and the Wyandot Memorial Hospital for their kindness and compassion to Jackie.
His Funeral Service will be at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Dan Cleland officiating. Burial will be private in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 3-6:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
