James D. Harnish, 82, of Fostoria, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
He was born on July 11, 1938, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Harold and Nell (Fisher) Harnish. On November 8, 1978, he married Constance Schultz and on May 11, 1991, they were married in the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Constance Harnish of Fostoria; sons, Jerry L. Harnish of Belleville, Jay D. (Chris) Harnish of Fremont, David J. (Kimberly) Clouse of Freeland, MI and Anthony P. (Jenifer) Clouse of Circleville; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Patricia Overmeyer.
James graduated in 1956 from Tiffin Columbian High School, worked at General Electric for 24 years, at Ameriwood, Horizon, and later retired from Excel Wire. After retirement, he worked part-time at Tiffin Hardware and was a landscaper. He was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel and enjoyed boating at Lake Erie, fishing, hunting, golfing working around the house, yardwork, drinking coffee with his friends at McDonalds in Fostoria, his Mustang and spending time with his family.
His Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed at allsaints-parish.com. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Bascom.
A walk through visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass on Saturday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
