James B. “Jim” Schock, 71, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday morning, June 2, 2022 at his home.
He was born on August 9, 1950, in Tiffin, Ohio to Gilbert and Erma (Kleinfelder) Schock. On December 6, 1974, he married Sue Vera.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Schock of Tiffin; son, Michael Vincent Schock of Columbus; daughters, Nicole “Nikki” S. Schock of Columbus, Elaine (David) Gregory of Cleveland, Jennifer (Bryan) Chemoti of Canton, MI; brothers, Joe (Dorothy) Schock of Tiffin and Jerry (Daisy) Schock of Visalia, CA; sister, MaryLou (Burt) Moore of Fort Worth, TX; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Schock; sisters, Marilyn Schock and Margaret Kasavage; and his dog, Brutis
Jim was a 1968 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and attended Tiffin University. After school, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He retired in 1999 from Excel Wire and Cable, after more than 25 years. Jim was quiet and laid back, enjoyed puzzles, karaoke, computer games, watching the History channel, playing poker, and was very good with numbers; his family used him as a human calculator.
His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
