Jane Alice Ecos, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care, Findlay.
She was born on January 17, 1933, in Bascom, Ohio, to J. Arthur and Ruth O. (Hartsel) Schultz.
Survivors include her sons, Nicholas (Kay) Ecos of San Diego, CA and Christopher (Jean) Ecos of Hartland, WI; daughters, Joanne Perko of Chagrin Falls and Kathleen (Jack) Zahn of Maumee; sister, Nancy Beaumont of Tiffin; sister-in-law, Phyllis Schultz of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Monica (Matt) Ecos of San Diego, Melina (Patrick) Blasi of Ellicott City, MD, Ally (James) Simon of Chagrin Falls, Neil (Kori) Perko of Willoughby, Grace Zahn of Columbus and Lily Zahn of New York City, NY; six great grandchildren; and “grandma” to Ellie Anderson and Jackie Feasel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud Schultz; and sister, Ruth Ann LeSavage.
Jane graduated in 1951 from Tiffin Calvert High School and in 1954 from Mercy School of Nursing. She worked at Mercy Tiffin Hospital for over 20 years and at Stoner Health Center at Heidelberg College for 25 years, retiring in 1998. She served on the Tiffin City School Board for three terms from 1973 to 1985, was a member of the Nurses Association and a volunteer for CASA. Jane was close to a group of high school classmates who met regularly for seven decades. She traveled often to see her grandchildren, to whom she was known as “Mana.” They all loved her as much as she loved them.
Her Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Zybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
