John graduated in 1951 from Tiffin Columbian High School and served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Norway, during the Korean Conflict. He retired from National Machinery in 1994, after 43 years as a repair technician. John was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, was on the Praise Team and drove the church van. For many years he mailed bulletins to those who were unable to attend church. He was known for signing all his correspondence, “God loves you and so do I.” He truly lived that saying out in his everyday life. He was a man of great faith, and a wonderful example to all who knew him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Catherine’s, Nicole Stull, his caregiver from Comfort Keepers and his Harmony Church Family. Thanks also to Diane Jaeck, who greatly enriched the last 12 years of his life.
