He was a graduate of New Riegel High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972.  He worked at Honeywell in Fostoria for 30 years, later retiring.  In 2004, he and his wife purchased the bar in New Riegel and named it Sonny Jack’s after their fathers.  After 18 years, they sold it in 2022.  John was a member of the New Riegel Moose, American Legion Post 354, New Riegel, UAW 533, Am Vets Post 48, Tiffin, and VFW Tiffin Post 2858.  In his early years, John enjoyed traveling and working on the family farm, watching NASCAR, collecting Cushman scooters and classic cars but most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
