John A. Thom

John A. Thom, 69, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at his home.

He was born on November 26, 1950, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Charles and Corrine (Tiell) Thom. 

Survivors include his children, Lisa Ann (Jason) Morton, Matthew John (Kelly) Thom and Holly Marie (Tara) Thom; grandchildren, Taylor Vitte and Palmer Thom; step grandchild, Shelby Morton; siblings, William C. (Cathy) Thom, Martha (John) Fiegelist and Joan M. Thom; five nieces and nephews; and special friend, Linda Price.

John graduated from Hopewell Loudon School in 1969 and was the facilities manager at G & L Oil, was a former fireman on the Bascom Fire Department, was a dairy farmer and worked construction.  John’s legacy is attributed to his dedication.  He was loyally employed at G & L Oil in Tiffin since 1996 where he was in charge of the fuel truck and delivery driving, project management and maintenance.  His hard work and dedication goes beyond his job title.  John was known as the “everything man” for many reasons as he optimistically handled any task presented to him.  John has left imprints on many and his legacy will continue to live on through his family at G & L Oil as well as everyone else’s lives he touched.

There will be a private graveside service at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
