John C. “Jack” Zablocki, 72, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, December 26, 2019 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.
On June 26, 1947 in Tiffin, he was born to John P. and Mary E. (Conroy) Zablocki. He married Alma Schneider and they later divorced.
Survivors include a brother, Steven M. (Sharon) Zablocki of Tiffin; sisters, Peg (Michael) Feigelist and Barbara Kiser both of Tiffin; Jean (Chuck) Willoughby of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews and his ex-wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Douglas A. Zablocki in 2017 and brother, Michael J. “Zeb” Zablocki.
Jack attended St. Mary School and graduated from Old Fort High School in 1965 and served in the United States Marine Reserves. He continued his education receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Heidelberg College and later his Master’s from the University of Akron. He was raised on the family Christmas Tree Farm north of Tiffin and always had a passion for Spruce trees. After teaching and counseling over the years, he went back to his roots, raising and caring for potted trees. Some may not know his name, but will remember him as the person selling trees out of the back of his pick-up at the corner of 224 and 23. Jack enjoyed living in his hometown, but the City of Cleveland had his heart. He was a Cleveland sports fan, made many friends in Cleveland and would visit them often.
A Celebration of life will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the farm.
