Joseph Lewis Ranker

Joseph Lewis Ranker, 76, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 5, 1946, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary (Stone) Ranker.  On December 11, 1971, he married his beloved wife and better half, Mary C. “Kay” Sauber and she preceded him in death on April 4, 2012.  

Survivors include his son, Joseph (Natalie) Ranker of Tiffin; daughter, Angela (Barney) Barnhart of Tiffin; grandchildren, Taylor and Shawna; sister, Virginia Richardson of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Ranker; and sisters, Sylvia Gibson, Dolores Ranker and infant sister, Mary Angela Ranker.

Joseph served in the United States Army as a military policeman, during the Vietnam War.  He was a heavy equipment operator for I.U.O.E. #18, out of Toledo.  He was a Republican who loved to have political discussions, enjoyed fishing, deer hunting with his family, target shooting, mushroom hunting and reading.  Joseph treasured family get-togethers, afternoons at the pond and loved creating lasting memories with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the AmVets, 1909 S. SR 100, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association.
