Joseph Frank “Joe” Stacklin, 82, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, June 05, 2023 at The Willows of Tiffin.
He was born on June 10, 1940, in Attica, Ohio, to Frank and Anna (Arend) Stacklin. On April 20, 1963, he married Rita Leis.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Stacklin of Tiffin; sons, David (Jan) Stacklin of Providence Forge, VA, Dennis (Roni) Stacklin of Tulsa, OK and Jeff (Laura) Stacklin of Vermillion; daughters, Jennifer (Jim) Styn of Carlsbad, CA and Angela (James) Keane of Boise, ID; brother, Michael (Sandra) Stacklin of Portage; seven grandchildren, Christopher Stacklin, Leigh Ann Stacklin, Caleb Styn, Carter Styn, Henry Stacklin, Olivia Stacklin and Sydney Stacklin; and one great grandchild, Benny Stacklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Mahley.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged from the Reserves on April 30, 1966. From 1964-1976, Joe worked at the Gulf Gas Station, as a mechanic at Tiffin Ford and then was the Auto Mechanics teacher for Adult Education for four years at Vanguard in Fremont and then retired from Sentinel Career Center after 12 years. He was a Volunteer Fireman for Republic and was an EMT for Tiffin. He was a member of the AmVets Post 48, Tiffin Moose Lodge #846 and the Knights of Columbus #608. Joe enjoyed helping his wife with her tax business, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, visiting Ireland, barbequing, home brewing and spending time at his “home away from home”, Lake Erie. Joe was patriotic and loved visiting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council
