Joyce B. (Elchert) Hart

Joyce B. Hart, 83, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, March 05, 2024 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

She was born on May 14, 1940, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Harold and Louise (Droll) Elchert.  On November 23, 1963, she married Michael Hart.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Hart of Tiffin; sons, Dennis (Lynette) Hart of Hilliard and Gary (Ann) Hart of Tiffin; five grandchildren, Abby Hart, Ethan Hart and Anderson Hart, all of Tiffin, Taylor Wilcox of Dublin and Kennedy (Eric) Graf, of Columbus; one great grandchild, Ellisyn Wilcox of Dublin; sisters-in-law, Sue Stine and Sue Hart; brother-in-law, Dick (Anne) Hart; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cindy Marley; brothers-in law, Joe Hart, John Hart, Jr., Joe Perna, Herb Sauers, Albert Huss, and Mike Marley; and sisters-in-law, Sandie Hart, Pat Sauers, Carolyn Perna and Ruth Hart.

Joyce was a graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria and of Mary Manse College in Toledo.  She started her teaching career off at Longfellow School in Fostoria for two years.  For the next 34 years she taught 2nd grade at St. Mary Elementary and then later became the first Computer Lab Teacher.

Joyce enjoyed vacationing, bowling, playing Bingo, attending every Calvert event, babysitting her grandchildren and attending all their extra curricular activities.  She was always supportive of her family and they were her life.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools or to St. Mary Catholic Church.
