Katherine Baxter Obituary

Katherine R. Baxter, 75, of Tiffin, passed away Friday afternoon, August 17, 2018 at St. Francis Home.

She was born to Thomas Gail and Carolyn (Arnold) Reigle on March 1, 1943, she married Robert Baxter on April 2, 1966 and he survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Leah (Steve) Bechtol of Ashland; a son, Miles Baxter of Tiffin; grandchildren, Wyatt, Mira, Hadley, and Hazel Bechtol;  brothers, Dennis (Patty) Reigle of Danville, CA; Bill Reigle of Cincinnati; brother and sister in law, Paul (Connie) Baxter and Mary Cathern (Paul)Blackburn, all of Canton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy graduated from Glenwood High School in Canton in 1961, attended her under graduate work at Heidelberg College in 1965 and finished her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from The Ohio State University in 1968.  She worked as a speech pathologist in Alaska and Arizona and The Betty Jane Center in Tiffin for over 40 years and later retired from Tiffin Developmental Center. She was a member and past elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Kathy was passionate about the League of Women Voters and the friendships she made with her Book Group over the many years.

Her service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 96 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883 with Rev. Katie Treadway officiating.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund at First Presbyterian Church.
