Kathryn L. (Schirack) Kummerer

Kathryn L. “Kate” Kummerer, 87, of Clyde, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Clyde Gardens Place.

She was born on April 15, 1932, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Gilbert and Jessie (Yeisley) Schirack.  On July 13, 1979, she married Paul J. Kummerer, who she met at Parents without Partners.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Heydinger of New Washington, Cindy (Mike) Smith of Attica and Peggy (Ed) Thames of Forest; stepsons, Paul, Jr. (Susan) Kummerer of North Carolina, David (Ann) Kummerer and Richard (Denise) Kummerer, both of Tiffin; stepdaughter, Dee (Tom) Distel of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul J. Kummerer; brother, Jim Schirack; and sisters, Mary Agnes Flick and Rosemary Runion.

Kate graduated in 1951 from Tiffin Columbian High School, worked at Tiffin Glass House, in the cafeteria at Tiffin Columbian High School and then as an aide at the Tiffin Developmental Center.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin Moose #846, Tiffin Eagles #402 and enjoyed gardening, flowers, trips to Vegas, dancing, Bingo and yard work.  Her greatest joy was her family.

Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Clayton J. Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the funeral home.
