Kenneth Joseph Rumschlag

Kenneth J. “Kenny” Rumschlag, 80, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at his home.

He was born on May 31, 1939, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Joseph E. and Gervase E. (Haubert) Rumschlag.  On June 22, 1968, in St. Mary Catholic Church, he married Gretta Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Gretta Rumschlag of Tiffin; sons, Mike (Sheri) Rumschlag and their daughter, Katie of New Riegel, Joe (Lesley) Rumschlag and their children, Kyle and Ally of New Riegel, Matt (Nicki) Rumschlag and their children, Samantha and Taylor of Tiffin; daughter, Karen (Todd Arter) Rumschlag,Ed.D. and their children, Kenneth and Emma Mae of Sycamore; and sisters, Phyllis (David) Seislove and Rita (Ted) Rombach, both of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenny graduated in 1957 from Tiffin Calvert High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a dedicated employee for the local Ford Implement Dealer for 44 years. After retirement, he worked with his good friend, Bill Theis for ten years at Theis Construction.  He enjoyed farming in McCutchenville and raising cattle at his homeplace in Tiffin. His younger years were spent racing go-karts and winning many trophies over the years.  His love for racing continued throughout his life. While attending many sprint car races around the area, he became a good acquaintance with Christopher Bell and followed his successful career in the sprint car circuit.  Kenny lived a frugal life and tried to save on everything. He used his mechanical skills to fix and rebuild many projects over the years. Kenny truly appreciated his many friends taking time out of their day to visit him during his illness.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-6:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Fremont or to the Northern Ohio Chapter ALS Association.
