Laverne (Shultz) Fox, 97, of New Riegel, passed away Friday morning, January 1, 2021 with her family by her side at The Heritage in Findlay.
She was born June 21, 1923, in Frenchtown, Ohio, to George and Genevieve (Kirian) Shultz. She married Vincent J. Fox August 12, 1944 in St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown. They Shared over 71 years together before his death in 2016.
Surviving are three children, Janice (Richard) Reinhart of Alvada, Marilyn Kinn of Tiffin and Robert (Janice) Fox of New Riegel; six granddaughters, Laurie (Tony) Gerschutz of Carey, Sandy Tackett of Tiffin, Traci (Keith) Elchert of Alvada, Shelly (David) Williams of New Riegel, Pamela (Nick) Schalk of New Riegel, Kristy (Adam) Faeth of New Riegel; 17 Grandchildren; and sister, Lou Ann Arbogast of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Francis Shultz; sisters, Maire Reinhart, Marjorie Hohman; and twin sisters.
Laverne was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel (formerly St. Nicholas Parish Frenchtown), where she was a part of the Rosary Alter Society. She was a long-time employee of the New Rigel Café. When she was not working at the Café Laverne spent her time enjoying being a housewife and being with her husband. When she had free time, she took advantage of it by camping, crocheting, doing puzzles, and playing cards.
A private funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Parish in New Riegel, Ohio for the immediate family. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Friends are invited to view the Mass online at www.allsaints-parish.com or on New Riegel All Saints, Facebook page.
