Luke Reiter Obituary

Luke Albert Reiter, 85, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on July 2, 1934, on the family farm, in Tiffin, to Harry and Olive (Reinhart) Reiter.  He lived on the farm until 2015, when he moved to St. Francis Home.

Survivors include his sister, Alice Seiche of Milan; sister-in-law, Marjorie Bumb of Tiffin; 28 nieces and nephews; Jane Noble, Susan Rogers, John Ringle, Paul Ringle, Brian Ringle, Mary Gordon, Gerald Roessner, Mike Roessner, Steve Roessner, Greg Roessner, Dan Roessner, Barb Hopple, Carol McConnell, Pat Gamby, Roger McKinnon, Julie McKinnon, Deb Gosche, Theresa Wonder, Bev Martin, Joan Pearson, Sharon Smigielski, Mark Reiter, Jim Reiter, Danette Scaife, Robert Seiche, Monica Sommers, Marilyn Mistry and Margaret Ho; many great nieces and nephews; and a few great, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ann Mae Reiter, Mrs. Lewis (Florence) Ringle, Mrs. Thomas (Ruth) Roessner, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) McKinnon, John Reiter and Francis Reiter; and three nephews, David Roessner, Richard McKinnon and Patrick Reiter.

Luke graduated from St. Joseph Grade School and in 1952 from Calvert High School.  He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959 and the active Reserves in 1961.  Luke farmed until he retired and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
