Madelyn F. Meeker, 83, of Bascom, passed away Sunday evening, June 20, 2021, at Birchaven Village, Findlay.

She was born January 16, 1938, in Seneca County, Ohio, to Albert Joseph and Evelyn Anne (Brickner) Reindl. She met the love her life; Floyd J. Meeker, Jr., at the Ball Room at Meadowbrook Park and within a year, they were married in the Rectory at St. Patrick Catholic Church on August 2, 1958, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Tim Meeker of Tiffin; four daughters, Cindy (Claire Roehm) Meeker of Austin, TX., Annette (Glenn) Hess of rural Fostoria, Lori (Tom) Scheele of Republic, Denise Meeker of Tiffin; five grandchildren, Derek (Jenna) Hess, Kurt (Kristen) Hess, Grant (Roxanne) Hess, Sam Scheele and Lacy (Jimmy) Martin; 14 great-grandchildren, Atley, Georgia, Morgan, Kylee, Trustyn, Landen, Lexi, Jace, Raelynn, Bennett, Kinley, Abram, soon to be Boone, Madison; sisters, Marjorie Reinhard of Republic and Dolores Coppus of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Madelyn graduated from Hopewell Loudon Class of 1955 and was member of All Saints Parish. Madelyn could often be seen around Bascom mowing lawns for Others. She was very helpful to the neighborhood elderly and gathering place for kids. Among the neighborhood kids she was best known for her “chocolate chip cookies.” Later in life she always enjoyed keeping the grandkids.

A private graveside service will be at Seneca Memory Gardens.
