Margaret Ward Obituary

Margaret “Peg” Joan (Adams) Ward, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 8, 2021 at her home in Englewood.

She was born on December 26, 1928, in Tiffin, Ohio to Willard K and Nita (Knecht) Adams.  On August 29, 1947, she married Kenneth Franklin Ward.  Margaret was most recently from Mill Ridge Village, Union, Ohio.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth (Paula) Ward of Port Clinton, Larry (Linda) Ward of Stevensville, MI and Reginald (Elaine) Ward of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Sharon Pitzen of Tiffin, Cindy Jordan of Tiffin and Nancy (Steve) Stapp of Tipp City; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and her loving German Shepherd, Zoey.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents; brother, Clifford (Bud) Adams; and sisters Virginia Biller, Vera Finn, and Jane “Pat” Kiesel.

Margaret graduated in 1947 from Tiffin Columbian High School as class vice president.  She is a member of First Lutheran Church and was an avid supporter of Guiding Eyes for the Blind and St. Jude’s Hospital. Margaret was an amazing baker; making wedding, birthday, and graduation cakes for hundreds of people for many years.  Margaret also raised, trained (Agility, Tracking and Schutzhund), and loved all dogs – specifically her German Shepherd’s.  She was also known for her quilting, refinishing antiques, remodeling her Model T Ford, and bicycling hundreds of miles with her family.  Margaret would say her greatest accomplishment and her life’s goal was to be a Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother!

Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with Pastor Clayton Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, Guiding Eyes for the Blind or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
