Marguerite Mary Gross, 95, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully, around her family, on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on April 16, 1925, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Karl and Viola (Lehnert) Kirchner. On October 12, 1946, she married Ralph B. Gross and he preceded her in death.
Marguerite was the last survivor of her immediate family. Survivors include her children, Debra (David) Moon, David Ralph Gross and Diane M. Kimmet, all of Tiffin and Donna (Art) Linthicum of Rossford; grandchildren, Jason (Samantha) Moon, Rachel (fiancé, Mark Long) Walland, Drs. Jonah (Teresa) Moon, Aleece (Damen) Geisler, Nicholas Linthicum, Maria (Travis) Mielcarek and Martin (fiancé, Kirsten Keller) Linthicum; and great grandchildren, Hunter Walland, Rylee Long, Jake Moon, Josh Moon, Audrey Geisler, Claire Geisler, Adelyn Moon, Alexander Moon, Oliver Moon and another grandson due in February of 2021.
Marguerite graduated in 1943 from Calvert High School and retired in 1990 from the City of Tiffin as the assistant finance director. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Rosary Altar society and was a former Democratic poll worker, bingo volunteer and member of Allen Eiry Seniors.
Due to the current pandemic, there will be no funeral home visitation. The family is concerned of everyone’s health.
Her Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Friends can watch the Mass via livestream at https://boxcast.tv/view/marguerite-gross-funeral-ctp2eo7vd8th01lrw1z0. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Calvert Catholic Schools.
The family would like to thank the entire staff that contributed to her care at Mercy, The Willows and Tiffin Rehabilitation Center over the last few months. The compassion and dedication of her healthcare workers was greatly appreciated.
