Marguerite “Marge” C. Ardner, 95, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, April 26, 2021 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born on March 30, 1926, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Raymond and Madeline (Ferstler) Gillig. On August 6, 1949, she married Gilbert “Gil” Ardner at St Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Dorene) Ardner of Tiffin, James (Linda) Ardner of Fremont, Glenn (Anne) Ardner, Don (Rose) Ardner, Roger (Cindy) Ardner and Tim (Lynn) Ardner all of Tiffin and John (Terry) Ardner of Fostoria; daughters, Mary (Jerry) Snyder of Tiffin, Sharon (Ozell) Eckford of Fremont and Trish (Michael) Ardner of Glennville, GA; sisters, Geraldine Stevens of Fostoria and Barbara (Ralph) Theis of New Riegel; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mildred Good; infant sisters, Kathryn and Bernadine Gillig; and great-grandchild, Hayliegh Wescott.
Marguerite was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, attended daily Mass, a member of the Rosary Altar Society and worked BINGO at the festival for years. She volunteered for dinners at the Knights of Columbus, Seneca County School of Opportunity, and the Ecumenical Sharing Kitchen. She enjoyed going to auctions, touring the United States with JB Tours, making noodles, walking, and winning at Euchre. Early on, she worked at Tiffin Glass House and loved being the best mom to her children. The grandchildren thought of her as a superhero.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Mass may be viewed at www.tiffinstjoseph.org.
A masked walk-through visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 10:00-11:45 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 36 Melmore St., Tiffin, OH. 44883
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic School Tuition Fund.
