Maria L. (Nagels) Adams

Maria L. Adams, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday morning, October 15, 2020 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.

She was born on August 13, 1928, in Antwerp, Belgium, to Francois and Jeanne ( Danckaers) Nagels. On September 18, 1945, in Belgium, she married Clifford P. Adams, II and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2011.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeannine Curns of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Tami, Lori, Angela, Trisha, Clifford, III, Jennifer, Lynn and Lisa; 18 great grandchildren, Maria, Alexis, Adam, Abby, Aubrey, Rachel, Raelyn, Ronald, Kaleb, Kaylee, Jacob, Kizzie, Jimmy, Jack, Bailey, Emily, Paige, Emma; 12 great, great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ginny Adams of Kidron; sister-in-law, Peg Ward of Union, Ohio; niece, Gaby of Belgium; and two great nieces, Carina and Cynthia of Belgium

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Clifford F. Adams; daughter, Nita Doran; brother, Henry (Maria) Nagels; and sons-in-law, Richard Curns and Robert Doran.

Maria moved to Tiffin from Belgium after marrying her husband.  She worked at the Tiffin Drive-In for ten years and then opened her own knit shop, Maria’s Knit Shop, which was downtown for 30 years.  At 92 years old, Maria was still living in her home and enjoyed knitting, teaching others to knit and gardening.

Her Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen Eiry Senior Center.
