Marjorie Dicken Obituary

Marjorie Marie Dicken, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 13, 2018 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.

She was born on December 7, 1927, in Seneca County, to Edward and Mary Ethel (Hakes) Scherger.  On April 16, 1946, she married Steve L. Dicken and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2010.

Survivors include her three sons, Larry Dicken of Tucson, AZ, Gary (Jody) Dicken of Tiffin and Paul Dicken of Fort Seneca; daughter, Diane (Michael) Hoepf of Bucyrus; four grandchildren, Lori (Todd) Martindale, David (Anette Sanchez) Dicken, Renee (Matt) Valentine and Emily (Jeremy) Schindorff; and seven great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant twin daughters, Susan and Linda Ann Dicken; brothers, William Scherger and John Scherger; daughter-in-law, Jenne Dicken; and granddaughter, Lisa Ann Hoepf.

Marjorie graduated in 1945 from Hopewell Loudon High School, worked at the Glove factory during WWII, at General Electric and retired from Sears & Roebuck.  She was a member of the Legion of Mary and SS Patrick & Andrew Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.  She enjoyed sewing, crafts, genealogy, volunteering and making gifts for organizations around the area during the holidays.  Marjorie’s faith was very important to her and she loved spending time with her family.  

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at SS Patrick & Andrew Catholic Church, St. Andrew Chapel, Liberty Twp., with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Bascom.

Friends may visit with the family from 5-8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Steve and Marjorie always donated to local Veteran’s groups.  Please donate to a local organization in her memory.
