Marlene Turner, 82, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2020 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on October 10, 1937, in Defiance, Ohio, to Russell and Dora (Criswell) Brown. On September 29, 1961, she married Donn “Duck” Turner and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2011.
Survivors include her son, Pete (Theresa) Turner of Woodbridge, VA; daughter, Fran (Pete) Kleinhenz of Tiffin; daughter-in-law, Gin Turner of Tiffin; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sons, Joe Turner and David Turner.
Marlene graduated from Farmer High School in Farmer Ohio and with an Education Degree from Bowling Green State University. She was a band instructor at Lakota Schools, taught music and was the band director at Tiffin Calvert and at St. Joseph School and retired in 1997 from Tiffin Public Schools. Marlene played the clarinet in the Fostoria Community Band, was in the North Coast Concert Band for 26 years and was a member of Moose Lodge 846, VFW Auxiliary and the Crawford County Kennel Club. She was an advocate for the Humane Society, raised and trained Shelties, was involved with dog training and pet therapy, was an OSU, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed golfing.
There will be a private Graveside Service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, Humane Society of Seneca County, Calvert Catholic Schools, Tiffin Seneca United Way or to F.A.C.T.
