Mary J. (Arend) Wise

Mary J. Wise, 82, of McCutchenville, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home.

She was born on May 3, 1939, in Carey, Ohio, to Ralph N. and Mildred J. (Niederkohr) Arend.  On September 6, 1958, she married James H. Wise and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2012.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Rhonda) Wise of Northwood, Joseph (Aubrey) Wise of Tiffin and Daniel J. (Kelly) Wise of McCutchenville; daughters, Kathy (Denny) Brodman of Carey, Linda Romanko of Sycamore and Theresa (Michael) Stine of Tiffin; brothers, Robert (Marie) Arend of Tiffin and Ronald Arend of Carey; sisters, Donna Daniel of Tiffin, Rose Shank of Sycamore, Betty (John) Mathias of New Riegel, Carol Swinehart of Upper Sandusky and Jeanette (Donald) Jesko of Carey; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Mary was a 1957 graduate of Carey High School and started out working at Westinghouse and later retired from AO Smith after 30 years.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, was an OSU football and basketball fan, enjoyed tending to her flowers, reading and collecting Precious Moments.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Stan Tabor officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be in Bethel South Bend Cemetery, McCutchenville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
