Mary A. “Dorothy” Ledwedge, 101, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday morning, November 21, 2020 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
On March 4, 1919 in Tiffin, she was born to Francisco and Maria Joanna (Calabella) Colatruglio. She married Robert “Bob” Ledwedge on April 27, 1940 in St. Mary Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2000.
Survivors include her daughters, Katie (Bob) Gosche of Fostoria; Fran (Dave) Ritzler of Findlay; Joan (Bill) Kagy of Plain City; a son, Pat (Lee) Ledwedge of McCutchenville; 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Daniel, Joseph, Jack, Sam, and an infant brother, sisters, Pauline, Philomena, and Carmella.
Dorothy was a member of All Saints Parish, Bascom where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister for many years and assisted her husband teaching CCD classes. She worked at General Electric for 35 years, retiring in 1985 and a member of the GEWATS. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, boat rides, traveling, especially a dream of a lifetime trip to San Bartalameo, Italy where her parents were born, wintering in Florida for years, and was an awesome cook, known for her meatballs, stuffed peppers, zucchini bread and cookies. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities through the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt that will be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be private with burial in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to an area Right to Life organization or to the Diabetes Association.
