Megan Mae Florence, 34, of Tiffin, passed away on April 12, 2023, surrounded by her family, at Mercy Health-St. Rita Hospital in Lima after a short illness.
On April 1, 1989, in Tiffin, she was born to Mike “Whitey” and Christy (Reis) Florence.
Survivors include her parents of Bloomville; brother, Major Jason (Nicole) Florence of Washington DC; sister, Nicole (Ben) Collar of Upper Arlington; nephews, Jackson and Brody and niece, Lucy; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roland and Joyce Florence and Richard and Donna Reis.
Megan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 2007 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Findlay where she played volleyball and her master’s degree from Lake Erie College where she was the interim volleyball coach. Megan was employed as the assistant office manager at R & I Construction. She was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Browns, and enjoyed traveling with her family. Megan loved spending time with family and friends, especially her lifelong friend Tyler. She had a heart of gold, always putting others first and an infectious smile that would light up the room.
Megan’s services and burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery will be private. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
