Michael S. Burns

Michael S. Burns, 66, of Tiffin and Naples, FL, passed away on January 9, 2021 at Bridge Hospice facility, Bowling Green.

He was born on July 29, 1954, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Clifford E. and Mary T. (Willman) Burns. On February 18, 1994, he married Patricia Helkey.

Survivor includes his wife, Patricia Helkey-Burns of Perrysburg; son, Wayne (Jesica Fletcher) Burns of Tiffin; daughter, Stephanie (Shaun) Wise of Findlay; step-sons, James Helkey of Westerville and David Helkey of Chagrin Falls, OH.; step-daughter, Katie Beery of Perrysburg; sisters, Kathy (Arthur) Renninger of Tiffin, Regina (Samuel) Wellman of Bloomville, Elaine (Robert) Leonard of Bettsville, Teresa (Michael) Perry of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren; and mother of his children, Alyce Burns of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents..

Michael graduated from Columbian High School, worked for the City of Tiffin Street Department for 18 years and had been Assistant Superintendent for a period of time and was the caretaker at Hibiscus Golf Club in Naples, Florida.  He was a member of the Amvets, Tiffin Moose Lodge 846, VFW Post 2858 and a life member of the American Legion Post 169 and the Eagles #402.  Michael was certified in cave diving and underwater rescue, was a scuba diving instructor and enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and was an Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.

A memorial service will be held at later date.
