Michael Wayne Holcomb

Michael Wayne “Mike” Holcomb, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 9, 2021 at his home.

On December 22, 1953 at Fort Bragg, NC he was born to James E. “Jay” and Louvena “Lou” (Caudill) Holcomb.  He married June Lamma on October 16, 1976 and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James “Jim” (Angie) Holcomb of Tiffin; Sgt. Jesse (Paij) Holcomb of Fort Hood, TX; sisters, Judith Gail (Sam) Brommer of Tiffin and Jamie Renee (Jay) Dyson of Phoenix, AZ; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, and Hadley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna Sue Morris.

Mike was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and attended Hopewell Loudon High School before joining the U.S. Army on January 19, 1971 with the 101^st Airborne Division.  He was honorably discharged on October 19, 1973 and remained active with the reserves until 1977.  Mike was a Millwright for 21 years with Seneca Wire and worked at Hayes Albion and Honeywell for years, before retiring from Continental Structural Plastics (Former Budd Co.) in Carey.  He enjoyed playing Bass guitar in local bands, Hot Shots, E-Z Pickins and Sugar Run and hanging out with his many friends at the Three-Oaks, watching any Cleveland sports teams, especially the Browns and watching his son race at dirt tracks around the area.  Mike was also a member of the New Riegel Moose and former member of the DAV.

His funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Patrick Bottoms officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the United Veterans Council of Seneca County.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 15, 2021 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
