Muriel Jean Hill, 92, of Tiffin, went to be with the angels, on April 26, 2021 at 9:50 P.M., at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 2, 1928, in Tiffin, to the late James and Corrine Culver.
She is survived by her three children, Lisa (Lee) Einsel, Amy Hill and Glenn Hill; grandchildren, Jacob Hill, Brock (Emily) Hill and Weston (Morgan) Hill, Holly Arquette and Heather (Joel) Calkins; and great grandchildren, Collin and Cameron Hite, Garrett Ody, and Blake, Greyson and Avery Hill.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ernest Hill; daughter, Diane Hill; and sister, Juanita.
She spent her whole life in Tiffin, growing up two streets away from her future husband. Muriel met and married her life’s partner, Ernest Hill, and together the couple raised four children.
She retired after several years working in the Seneca County Clerk of Courts office. She then accumulated thousands of volunteer hours working at the Ritz, helping with everything from the box office, concessions and ushering. She was always so happy when she got the autograph of the entertainers, which she frequently did.
Even though Muriel lived in Tiffin her whole life, she was quite adventurous. When she visited Turkey, she took a tour of the capital city by herself and parasailed with her daughters when she was 85.
Her passion was baking pies for her family, making sure there was always a slice of fresh peach pie in dad’s lunch. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to specifically acknowledge everyone at Heartland Hospice, her friends and neighbors, who have been a godsend and will never be forgotten.
There will not be any services at this time. A memorial Service will be at a later date, when it is safe to gather.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 907 West State Street, Fremont, Ohio 43420, (heartlandhospicefund.org) or to the Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
