Nancy Kay (Smith) Schindler

Nancy Schindler, 84, of Fremont and formerly of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital in Oregon, Ohio.

Nancy was born June 27, 1939, in Tiffin to the late Vernus and Erma (Manecke) Smith. On September 01, 1955, she married Robert Schindler and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Dana) Schindler of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Andrea (Donald) Sartin of Fremont and Krista (Jay) Nordholt of Aurora; brother, Gary (Barb) Smith of Tiffin; sister, Linda Setescak of NJ; brother-in-law, Larry Miller; grandchildren, James, Jason, Don Jr., Michael, Shelby, Jeremiah, and Jack; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Denise Miller.

Nancy was a graduate of Calvert High School and member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin.  She worked as a radiologist at Dr. Hoffman, Birmingham & Associates.  Nancy was an avid swimmer, enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, decorating, especially for weddings, loved animals and spending time with her family.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S Washington St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883.  Burial will be private in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Humane Society, 9640 County Hwy 330, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
