Paul Bouillon Obituary

Paul E. Bouillon, 90, of New Riegel passed away Sunday evening, January 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 22, 1930, in Seneca County, to Charles C. and Della (Frankart) Bouillon. On May 24, 1952, he married Evelyn Frey.

Survivor includes his wife Evelyn Bouillon of New Riegel; sons, Kenny Bouillon of New Riegel, Larry (Lori) Bouillon of New Riegel, John  (Jody) Bouillon of New Riegel; daughter, Nancy (Paul) Mathias of New Riegel; brother, Donald (Connie) Bouillon of Fostoria; sisters, Gladys Frank of Tiffin, Barbara Wise of Tiffin, Anna Thiry of Fostoria, Mary (Kenneth) Riedlinger of Upper Sandusky, Martha (Robert) Brickner of Marysville, Marcella (Peter) Naderer of Fremont; sister-in-law, Clara Bouillon of New Riegel grandchildren, Nicki (Doug) Meier, Lisa (Justin) Donelson, Jenna (Brian) Yost, Kylie (Jarron) Theis, Seth Bouillon, Brook Hessey, Kailee (Justin) Scherger; and great grandchildren, Zoe, Kenzleigh, Braylin, Logan, and Tanner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Tim in 1981, brother, Charles “Sonny” Bouillon, Jr., and sisters, Alma Smith and Margaret Koby.

Paul was a lifetime member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel (Formerly St. Boniface Catholic Church) where he served on the church council, chaired the parish festival for 20 years and was an usher.  He graduated from New Riegel High School in 1949 and was drafted to the U.S Army in June of 1952 shortly after marrying Evelyn.  He honorably served and was discharged in June of 1954.  Upon his return to New Riegel in 1954, he started working at the market in downtown New Riegel and later purchased it in 1964 naming it Paul’s Market and selling in 1984 but continuing to work and retired in 2012 while his son Larry was the owner.  Paul was always on the move and could not sit still.  He loved woodworking, yardwork and when it became difficult to stand, he could be seen lying next to his garden and flowers as he cared for them.  Paul was a Life Member of American Legion Post 354 and New Riegel Moose where he held offices in both, clerk for the New Riegel Board of Education, a member of the Ohio Grocers Association, Small Business Owners Association and an Honorary Member of the New Riegel FFA.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Parrish in New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer and Rev. Ronald Schock officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors by the New Riegel American Legion Post 354. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and one hour prior at church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Parish, Heartland Hospice or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
