Paul J. Lucius, Sr., 84, of Burgoon, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
On November 11, 1935 in Seneca County, he was born to Frank and Clara (Reinhart) Lucius. He married Charlotte F. “Snookie” Shiley on February 25, 1958 and she preceded him in death on January 7, 2015.
Paul is survived by his children, Paul (Ann) Lucius, Jr. and Sally Myers both of Tiffin; Patrick Lucius of Burgoon; Billie Jo (Steve) Garcia of Dickson, TX; Charlene Mack of Sycamore; two brothers, Louis Lucius and Francis (Susan) Lucius both of New Riegel; sisters, Eileen Kurtz of New Washington; Alma (Marion) Lucius of New Riegel; Marjorie (Robert) Sours of Sycamore; sister in law, Florence Lucius of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and his dog Buckeye.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Timothy Lucius in 1985; brothers, Bernard and Gerald, sisters, Dorothy Clouse and Lucille Smith and infant twin grandsons, Kevin and Ryan Mack.
Paul drove truck for 12 years, a millwright for 33 years at Basic Refractories and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul and Charlotte wintered in Texas for years; he was a member of Basic’s Quarter Century Club a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Big Nut. Paul will be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
His service will be Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tammy Waugaman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.
Friends may visit and share storied with the family on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 2-7PM at the funeral home. Everyone is encouraged to dress casually and wear something OSU.
