Rachel Paradiso Obituary

Rachel A. Paradiso, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Tiffin surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 22, 1942 in Paulding, OH to Clarence C. and Isabelle S. (Sewall) Bowyer.  On May 18, 1968 in St. Mary Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, Salvatore “Sam” Paradiso and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2019.  Thanks be to Jesus, they were Blessed to joyfully celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary at The Empire Restaurant with family and friends.

Survivors include her 3 children, Jennifer Paradiso of Tiffin, Mike (Jen) Paradiso of Findlay and Jon (fiancé Sara Lynn) Paradiso of Fostoria; 7 grandchildren, Skylar, Dominic, Sofia, Gabe, Brandon, Andrew, and Olivia; and her brother, Joseph C. Bowyer of Worthington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Rachel was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1960 graduate of Paulding High School.  After high school, she graduated from the International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN and worked for Marathon Oil Company in Findlay.  Besides spending time with family, she loved being outside in the warmth of the sun; going up around the lake, particularly on her son’s boat; vacationing with family, especially her trips to Italy and wintering in Florida with her husband, brother-in-law, Dan Paradiso and sisters-in-law, Barb Paradiso and Philomena (Tommy) Mathias; and spending hours working around her property and watching the deer and other wildlife with her beloved husband.  Rachel was a gentle, com

passionate and empathetic soul, having unconditional love and acceptance for everyone.  Over the years, she was a caregiver to many and was always willing to help others.  Her family was the center of her world.  She was the most loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

The Family would like to Thank everyone who took the time to visit, send cards, notes, flowers, called her on the phone, and kept her in their prayers over the past several months.  She was a quiet and meek person, never wanting to be the center of attention, so she was completely overwhelmed and humbled by your outpouring of thoughtfulness and love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader and Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. The Mass will be live-streamed at www.stmarychurch.com.
