Richard "Dick” O. Eddington, 85, of New Riegel, passed away at his home Monday afternoon, November 21, 2022.
He was born on July 17, 1937, in Findlay, Ohio, to William and Adeline L. (Filliater) Eddington. On February 2, 1957, he married Thelma Jean Welborn and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Ed (Laura) Eddington of Frenchtown; daughters, Brenda (Bob Clouse) Cook of Tiffin, Sherry “Sis” Hines of New Riegel, Robin (Eric) McCormack of Bascom, Becky (Rob) Eoff of Marblehead, OH.; brother, Kenny (Deb) Eddington of Findlay; sisters, Norma (Don) Riker and Kay Stover, both of Findlay; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and his cat, Pudy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Beverly Eddington; brothers, Frank W. Eddington, Donald E. Eddington, Robert L. Eddington, Keith L. Eddington; infant brother, Roger D. Eddington; sisters, Ethel M. Decker and Sally Pugh; son-in-Law, Jim Hines; and 2 great grandchildren, Blake William Tyree, and Gavin Ryan Hartman.
Dick was a member at All Saints Parish, New Riegel as well as of New Riegel Moose and Lifetime member of Tiffin Eagles. He worked as a caster at American Standard for 38 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed being in the woods, hunting, fishing at Lake Erie, gardening and mushroom hunting. Dick was a NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan, University of Michigan fan, and loved playing jokes, telling stories and was a great BS’er.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 28, 2022, at 1:00 PM at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of Mass at All Saints Parish, 43 N. Perry St, New Riegel, OH 44853.
