Richard C. “Monk" Traxler, 56, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on July 30, 1964, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Grover and Marjorie A. “Marge” (Magers) Traxler.
Survivors include his sons, Levi (Julia Szefer) Traxler of Vancouver, BC and Guy Traxler of Tiffin; daughters, Nadia Traxler of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Winema (Cody Craft) Traxler of Tiffin; brothers, John A. Traxler, Burnett G. Traxler and Joseph A. Traxler; sisters, Elizabeth Shelt, Barbara Sue Carter, Virginia Fetro, Jackie Englert, Mary Lou Traxler and Amy Lanier; stepsister, Rhonda Trent; five grandchildren, Tripp, Ava, Bayleigh, Jackson and Chandler; and one expected soon, Varro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Traxler and Marjorie Pennycuff; stepfather, William J. Pennycuff; and brothers, Chris Traxler and Fred Traxler.
Rich was a 1983 graduate of Columbian High School and after living in Fremont for ten years, he moved back to Tiffin. He worked at American Standard until it closed, then at various factory jobs around the area. Rich was a Cleveland Browns fan, enjoyed listening to Classic Rock, traveling, going on road trips, golfing, was famous in his family for making bratwurst and his smile would brighten up any room.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
