Robert A. Klepper, 93, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on May 14, 1925 in Decatur, Indiana to William A. & Cecilia R. (Hergenroether) Klepper. On April 19, 1952, he married Elsie L. Hartman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Elsie Klepper of Tiffin; children, Tanya Klepper of Franktown, CO, Kris (Shannon) Klepper of McCutchenville, Maggie (Vince) Noone of Parker, CO and Michael (Karen) Klepper of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Daniel G. Klepper and infant son, R. Anthony Klepper; granddaughter, Francis M. Klepper; three brothers; and three sisters.
Robert served as an Airman Aviation Radioman, 2nd Class, in the United States Navy during World War II. After serving in the Navy, he returned to Indiana and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1948. He co-founded Superior Distributing Co., Inc. in 1948, retiring in 1990. He was active in the Wholesale Beer and Wine Association of Ohio, serving as its’ President in 1983. Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a former Heidelberg University Trustee and was active in various local organizations including, Serra Club, Knights of Columbus #608, Tiffin Elks Lodge #94 and the American Legion Post #169.
Services including a funeral Mass will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Klepper Memorial Scholarship c/o Tiffin Charitable Foundation, St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
