Robert Irving Maiberger, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday morning, April 10, 2023 at his home.
He was born on June 07, 1930, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Ralph Stephen and Louise Eleanor (Hergenrather)
Maiberger. On July 14, 1951, he married Doris Eileen Ranker and she survives.
Together, Bob and Doris raised their children, Barb Maiberger Paulus, David Maiberger, Tom (Cheryl)
Maiberger of Tiffin, Jim (Cindy) Maiberger of Tiffin, Kevin (Shelley) Maiberger of Tiffin, Trina (Chris)
Sherrill of Amherst and Tami Bonhotel (Jim Miller) of Amherst. David passed away as an infant and
Barbara passed away in 1980.
He is also survived by his brother, Michael C. Maiberger of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great
grandchildren.
Bob was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Maiberger, Jr. and John Maiberger; and
granddaughter, Marissa Paulus.
Bob graduated in 1948 from Tiffin Calvert High School. After high school, he served in the Korean War,
and was awarded a Purple Heart. In 1952, Bob, along with his father and three brothers, started Tiffin
Paper Co. He retired after 40 plus years. The company is still going strong today, now as TPC Food
Service and is operated by his family. Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion
Post 169 and the Knights of Columbus #608. For many years Bob donated toys and helped the firemen
distribute Christmas toys to children out of the Tiffin Paper Company Warehouse. Bob enjoyed
traveling, playing billiards and cards. He also loved playing the piano, going to the horse races, and
tennis. Bob cherished his family and when his children were younger his home was open to all the
neighborhood kids and was known as the “Neighborhood Rec Center”.
His Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev.
Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St.
Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon on Saturday at
Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County, St. Joseph Catholic
Church or to the Calvert High School Tuition Assistance.
