Robert W. “Bob” Meyer, 83, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at The Landings of Westerville.
He was born on January 29, 1939, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Walter and Glenna (Shafer) Meyer. On August 16, 1959, in First Lutheran Church, he married Janet S. Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Meyer; children, Rene’e Meyer of Strasbourg, France, Renata (Steve) Snyder of Westerville, Rebecca (David) Myers of Maumee, Matthew (Carol) Meyer of Findlay and Martin Meyer of Tiffin; grandchildren, Antoine, Benjamin (Lindsay), Jacob (Aimee), Jordan, Carmen, Cole (Chloe), Parker, Lauren, Calvin, Mitchell, Margaret, Isabella, Elise and McClain; great grandchildren, Sarah, Sophia, Sawyer, Cameron and Emeric; and brother, Gerald (Jo Anne) Meyer of Lakeside Marblehead.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was a 1957 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and a 1961 graduate of Toledo College of Pharmacy. He was a registered pharmacist in Ohio, was president of Meyer Drug Store, Inc. and Meyers & Co., Inc. and served as president of the Drug Wholesalers Association. He retired as vice-president of Amerisource Bergen Corp.
Bob served as member and president of The Tiffin City Board of Education, the Ritz Foundation and was a Heidelberg Trustee. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church, having served in a number of capacities. One of Bob’s greatest satisfactions was serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Seneca and Sandusky Counties advocating for the best interest of children/youth in the Juvenile Court.
Bob loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Clayton Bailey officiating. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
