Robert “Bob” Leroy Legron, 86, formerly of Tiffin and Norwalk passed away Friday evening, May 8, 2020 at The Willows at Willard.
On August 9, 1933 in Seneca County, he was born to Roy and Thelma (Doak) Legron. He married Judith Elaine Brown on December 28, 1955 and she survives in Norwalk.
Other survivors include his children, Steve (Tracy) Legron of Marysville; Denise (Dr. Roger) Stine and Julie (Wade) Herrig both of Norwalk; sister, Linda (Chris) Fowler of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charles, Richard, and Harry Legron and a sister, Josephine Wilt
Bob was a 1952 graduate of Bloomville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Alaska. He retired as a machinist from National Machinery in 1994 after 32 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. In 1973, he co-owned Truck Haven Restaurant in Bloomville with his wife Judy for years and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, collecting coins and genealogy. His true passion was collecting and restoring Simplex motorcycles over the years. The Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. interviewed him in 2015 and was referenced in many magazine articles. Bob was a former member of the Tiffin Moose, AmVets, Eagles and Bloomville American Legion.
A private visitation will be held with a graveside service on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Attica-Venice Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
