Rudolf "Rudy" "Gene" E. Karle

Rudolf E. “Rudy” “Gene” Karle, 82, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday morning, June 4, 2020 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on April 13, 1938, in Fremont, Ohio, to Rudolf and Florence (Elmers) Karle.  On August 29, 1959, in Washington Street United Methodist Church, he married Bessie E. Digby and she preceded him in death in 2017.

Survivors include his sons, Dennis E. (Gita) Karle of Canton, Massachusetts and David B. (Lori) Karle of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sister, Sandy Robenalt of Marquette, MI; and grandchildren, Ryan, Shaun, Vijay, Emily and Priya.

He was also preceded in death by his infant twin sons, Richard A. and Donald L. Karle; sister, Marilyn Grieselding; and brother Bill Karle.

Rudolf graduated in 1957 from Tiffin Columbian High School and was a route driver at Arnold Vending from 1954 to 2005.  He was a long serving member of First Lutheran Church, enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening, traveling by car around the United States, visiting Germany, and enjoyed the New England area in the fall, stopping at the Alpine Tavern after work, was a season ticket holder at the Ritz Theater and was a Detroit Lions and Michigan football fan.  Rudolf was very sociable, talking to everyone and was a caretaker for his family members and loved his pet poodle, Tammy.  He was greatly aided in recent years by family friend, Connie Lucius.

His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Clayton Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, Ritz Theatre or to the Humane Society of Seneca county.
