Ruth S. (Sacksteder) Dore

Ruth S. Dore, 98, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at The Willows At Tiffin.

She was born on September 27, 1922, in Tiffin, Ohio, to John and Alice (Russell) Sacksteder.  On May 22, 1946, she married Frank T. Dore and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her three daughters, Kathryn (Rex) Fiske of Toledo, Jean (Anthony) Vargo of Tiffin and Mary Jane (Edwin) Blaha of Independence; a son, Frank T. (Nancy) Dore III of Tiffin; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Damm, Margaret Merkle and Jane Kleinhenz; and one grandchild.

Ruth was a 1940 graduate of Tiffin Calvert and studied at De Sales College.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and started and volunteered at the Betty Jane Thrift Shop.  Ruth enjoyed traveling the world, going on cruises, reading, partaking in the Nifty Fifty bowling club, Penthouse, and numerous bridge clubs and was an excellent cook.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating and will be livestreamed at www.tiffinstjoseph.org.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or Heartland Hospice.
