Ruth Wahl, 92, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 7, 2021 at her home with her husband, Fritz Wahl, by her side.
Ruth was born on September 2, 1929, in Sonderreit, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, to Wilhelm and Emilie (Hetzler) Kempf. She was the oldest daughter of ten children.
In the 1950s Ruth immigrated to Toledo where she met and married her husband Fritz, her “Schatz”, also a recent German immigrant, on November 12, 1955. They lived together in Tiffin for 65 years and raised three children, Heidi (Ron) Nugent of Columbus, Lori (Steve) Reinbolt of Whitehouse and Mark (Maria) Wahl of Tiffin. Ruth worked more than 20 years at the Ballreich Potato Chip company and showed her love for family and friends by her exceptional cooking and baking of traditional German meals, cakes and cookies.
Survivors include her husband, children; grandchildren (who fondly refer to her as Oma), David Wahl, Clint Reinbolt, Rachel Myers, Jakob Reinbolt, Laura Wahl, Lauren Nugent and Kyle Nugent; six great grandchildren; and seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Her Funeral Service is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ or to Heartland Hospice.
