Shirley Kimmet, 68, formerly of Tiffin and most recently of Clyde, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at her home.
She was born on March 16, 1953, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Earl S. and Effie F. (Biller) Runion. On July 20, 1974, she married Joseph A. Kimmet and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2019.
Survivors include her son, Joseph (Cora) Kimmet of Fostoria; daughters, Kimberly (Uche) Mba of Clyde and Kelly (Brad McIntyre) Kimmet of Tiffin; brother, Calvin (Sue) Runion of McCutchenville; sister-in-law, Wilma Runion of Sycamore; four grandchildren, Raini Biddle, Eve (George) Villiers, McKella Kimmet and Amelia Kimmet; and one great grandchild, Flynn Villiers.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Sam Runion.
Shirley was a 1971 graduate of Mohawk High School and was an assembler at Whirlpool in Findlay, retiring in 2016. She taught swim lessons at the YMCA, was a former member Tiffin Moose Lodge 846 and enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, traveling to Germany and camping throughout Ohio. Shirley never complained, was a great caretaker and was always thinking of others.
Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
