Steven L. England

Steven L. England, 72, of Republic passed away Friday afternoon, March 03, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

On April 08, 1950 in Fremont, he was born to Harold L. “Doggie” and Mary E. (Church) England.  He married Diane M. Phillips on December 24, 1970.

Survivors include his wife, Diane of Republic, son, Gary (Lisa) England of Bloomville; three daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Crosby of Tiffin; Erika (Josh) Beckman of Republic; Marsha (Steve) Swiger of Bellevue; two brothers, Ronald England of Fremont; Richard England of Tiffin; and a sister, Gloria (Birchard) Valentic of Berwick; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Linda Wilcox, Judy Stockdale, Pamela Harrison, and Martha Burd.

Steve was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served in the U.S.M.C. from 1969-1971.  He worked at Columbus Showcase in Bellevue for years and was a mason most of his life.   He enjoyed fishing anywhere he could, hunting, camping around the area, especially East Harbor State Park and and being outside with nature.  Most of all he loved his family, being at home and family get togethers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 09, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors by the Seneca County United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Wednesday, March 08, 2023 from 4-7:00 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
