Wilbur H. Lang, 88, of Findlay, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
He was born on November 1, 1933, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Anton and Theresa (Fillator) Lang. On November 22, 1954, he married Alice A. Thiel and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2018.
He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Lisa) Lang of Maineville and Jeffrey (Sandy) Lang of Fostoria; sister, Donna (George Reinhart) Newlove of Fostoria; granddaughter, Allison Lang of Maineville; and three step-grandchildren, Shawn Kessler of Columbus, Megan (Brett) Kramer of Columbus and Eric Kessler of Fostoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; brothers, Gilbert, Raymond, Norbert, Robert and Alvin; and sisters, Margaret Elchert, Helen Fleck and Pauline Lang.
Wilbur was a 1951 graduate of New Riegel High School and worked in the lab at the General Electric plant in Tiffin for 31 years. After retiring from General Electric, Wilbur operated his own landscaping and painting business for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, was a Little League baseball coach and umpire for 30 years, was a life-long sports enthusiast and die-hard fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes, rooted for all other Ohio sports teams and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
His Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Fr. Thomas Merrill, OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel.
