Willis E. “Will” Bean, 85, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at his home.
He was born on October 25, 1933, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Robert and Marguerite (Hoover) Bean. On November 20, 1954, in St. Mary Catholic Church, he married Dolores M. “Dodie” Dolweck and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Melissa) Bean of Tiffin and Robert Bean of Fort Seneca; daughters, Kelly (Jim Miller) Monak, Vicki Stover and Belinda (Tony) Monaco, all of Tiffin; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Kuhn of Tiffin; seven grandchildren, Toby (Andrea) Stover, Jenny (Jay) Heck, Dan Monaco, Angela Miller, Nichole (Bob) Sutherland, Heather (Carl) Roush and Garrett Bean; 13 great grandchildren; and special friend, Jane Cooley.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Will served in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Saipan Aircraft Carrier, during the Korean War. He owned Old Orchard Trailer Park and Home Heating and Plumbing for over fifty years. Will was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, AmVets Post 48 and the American Legion Post 169. He was an Ohio State University, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed fishing, bowling in many leagues, playing cards, traveling, going to Las Vegas, Manhattans and wintering in Florida for years. Will enjoyed spending time with his family and watching all his grandchildren in their sporting events.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew R. Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
