Phyllis M. Gunter, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Good Shepherd Village, Fostoria, OH.

She was born August 23, 1925, in Tiffin, OH, to Ralph and Emma (Felty) Fraley, attended Columbian High School and graduated from the Chicago School of Nursing.

She married Charles (Red) D. Gunter of Tiffin, in Spartanburg, SC on March 15, 1945 who preceded her in death in 2013.

After retiring from Webster Manufacturing, Tiffin and working several years as a nurse for Dr. Gene Williard and private nursing, she spent many hours volunteering for various organizations to include pet therapy.

She is survived by two children, Betty "Becky" Gunter-Mouradian of Tiffin, and Charles Gunter II of Cincinnati; daughter-in-law, Abby Gunter; granddaughter Rebekah Gwen Gunter; niece, Emily Van Curan of Daytona Beach, FL; step grandchildren, Eric Mouradian and Tonya DeBold of Washington Courthouse, Leslie Stanton-Shook of Tiffin, Laurie Stanton-Dennis of Massillion, Scott Stanton of Concord, North Carolina; 10 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph, Robert, Billy, James, Thomas; sister, Betty Renninger; and son-in-law, Robert Mouradian.

Phyllis was a faithful servant of The Lord and attended First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was a champion of the sick and aged and was always quick to entertain and offer guidance.

The family would like extend special thanks to the Autumnwood Care Center and Good Shepherd Village staff for their friendship and care.

A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Fairmont Cemetery with the Rev. Douglas DeVos officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Shrine’s Hospital for Children or First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Tiffin.
