Dan has been a close, nearly lifelong friend. I met him in the early 70's when I was his paperboy. He tutored me in radio and electronics theory in order for me to get two upgrades to my amateur radio (ham) license. We've stayed friends ever since, sharing our interest in radios, electronics and photography, through radio, email and weekly phone conversations as we both moved around the country. I always looked forward to our visits when I was in the area. He will be greatly missed! Condolences to his family on their/our loss.
